Programming Guide for 2024 Cadillac CT5 Smart Keyless Entry Remote Fob
The 2024 Cadillac CT5 does not support onboard programming for remote key fobs. Programming must be completed using professional diagnostic tools. The steps below outline the general process carried out by a trained technician.
Smart Key Programming Procedure (No Onboard Option):
- Step 1: Ensure all replacement remote keys are present and within the vehicle cabin.
- Step 2: Confirm that the vehicle battery is fully charged to prevent any interruptions during the programming session.
- Step 3: Unlock the vehicle using the mechanical key blade stored inside the remote fob, if necessary.
- Step 4: Insert the mechanical key into the driver-side door lock and turn it to the unlock position.
- Step 5: Gain access to the vehicle’s interior and locate the Onboard Diagnostic (OBD-II) port, typically found beneath the dashboard near the steering column.
- Step 6: Connect a certified diagnostic scan tool to the OBD-II port. This tool is required to access the vehicle’s keyless entry and immobilizer system.
- Step 7: The technician will follow the scan tool prompts to enter the remote key programming sequence.
- Step 8: Each remote fob will be placed in the designated programming location, such as the front or rear cupholder or center console pocket (varies by trim), during the learning process.
- Step 9: The system will confirm each key has been successfully programmed through a notification on the Driver Information Center (DIC) or diagnostic tool.
- Step 10: Once all remotes are programmed, the technician will exit programming mode and verify functionality by testing the LOCK, UNLOCK, and ENGINE START functions for each key.
Important Notes: A maximum of eight remote keys can be programmed to this vehicle. All existing remotes will be erased during the process and must be reprogrammed at the same time. Only trained professionals with access to OEM-level tools can complete this procedure.
