Smart Key Remote Programming Instructions – 2024 Genesis G90
Important Notice: The 2024 Genesis G90 does not support onboard programming for smart key remote fobs. Programming must be carried out by a trained technician using professional diagnostic tools.
Programming Instructions:
- Step 1: Contact a certified automotive technician or authorized dealer who specializes in smart key systems and has access to manufacturer-approved diagnostic equipment.
- Step 2: Verify that the technician is equipped with tools that can interface securely with your vehicle’s electronic control system to perform the key programming procedure.
- Step 3: If your vehicle is in working condition, driving to the service provider may help reduce service fees associated with mobile visits.
- Step 4: Schedule a service appointment in advance to ensure availability and confirm that the technician has the proper tools for your specific vehicle model.
- Step 5: Bring all current smart keys with you, as some systems may require all remotes to be programmed during the same session to maintain proper operation.
- Step 6: Once at the service location, the technician will connect a diagnostic tool to your vehicle’s onboard port, typically located beneath the dashboard.
- Step 7: The technician will initiate the programming process through the diagnostic system to securely register the new smart key with your vehicle.
- Step 8: After programming is complete, all functions—such as keyless entry, push-button start, and trunk release—will be tested to ensure they are working correctly.
- Step 9: Personally test each remote to confirm full functionality before finalizing the service.
- Step 10: Store backup remotes in a safe location and consider having an extra smart key programmed for convenience or emergencies.
