Smart Key Remote Programming Guide – 2024 Genesis GV70
Important Notice: The 2024 Genesis GV70 does not support onboard programming for smart key remote fobs. Programming must be completed by a qualified technician using advanced diagnostic tools.
Programming Instructions:
- Step 1: Contact a certified automotive technician or authorized service provider with experience in smart key programming and access to vehicle-specific diagnostic equipment.
- Step 2: Verify that the technician is equipped with the proper tools to securely interface with your vehicle’s electronic control system and perform the programming procedure.
- Step 3: If your vehicle is drivable, consider visiting the service location instead of requesting mobile service. This can help reduce overall service costs.
- Step 4: Schedule your appointment in advance to confirm availability and allow the technician to prepare the required tools for your vehicle model.
- Step 5: Bring all existing smart keys to the appointment. Some systems require all remotes to be programmed during the same session to maintain full functionality.
- Step 6: Once at the service location, the technician will connect a diagnostic interface to the vehicle’s onboard diagnostic port, typically found beneath the dashboard.
- Step 7: The technician will initiate the programming process using specialized software to register the new smart key with the vehicle’s system.
- Step 8: After programming is complete, the technician will test all remote functions—including locking, unlocking, engine start, and trunk access—to confirm successful operation.
- Step 9: Personally test each remote before leaving to ensure every function is working correctly.
- Step 10: Keep backup remotes in a secure place and consider having an extra smart key programmed for convenience or emergency use.
