Programming Guide for 2024 Mitsubishi Mirage Keyless Entry Remote Fob (Smart Key)

Important Notice: This vehicle does not support onboard programming for keyless entry remote fobs. Programming requires specialized diagnostic equipment and must be performed by a qualified technician. Programming Procedure

  • Step 1: Locate a Qualified Professional Find a certified automotive technician or service provider who is equipped to program smart key remote fobs for your vehicle.
  • Step 2: Consider Cost-Effective Options If your vehicle is still drivable, consider driving it to the technician’s location instead of having them come to you, as this can help save money.
  • Step 3: Prepare All Key Fobs Ensure that all existing and new key fobs are ready for programming. Some vehicles may require all fobs to be available during the process.
  • Step 4: Provide Proof of Ownership Before proceeding, the technician may require proof of ownership, such as the vehicle registration or title, to verify that you are the owner of the vehicle.
  • Step 5: Connect to the Vehicle’s System The technician will use specialized diagnostic equipment to connect to your vehicle’s system. This allows them to securely access the vehicle’s security system and initiate the programming process.
  • Step 6: Programming the Smart Key Remote Fob The technician will use the diagnostic tools to program the new remote fob, ensuring that it is properly paired with your vehicle’s system.
  • Step 7: Test the Programmed Fob After programming, the technician will test the newly programmed remote fob to ensure it works properly with your vehicle, including checking the remote entry and keyless start functions.
  • Step 8: Program Additional Fobs (If Needed) If you have additional key fobs to be programmed, the technician will repeat the process for each one. All fobs should be programmed at the same time to ensure they sync correctly with the vehicle’s system.
  • Step 9: Exit Programming Mode Once all fobs are successfully programmed and tested, the technician will exit programming mode and return the vehicle to normal operation.
  • Step 10: Retrieve Your Vehicle and Key Fobs Once programming is complete, retrieve your vehicle and the newly programmed remote fobs. Test all fobs to ensure they function properly before leaving the service provider.
