Programming Guide for 2025 Cadillac CT4 Smart Keyless Entry Remote Fob
Important Notice: The 2025 Cadillac CT4 is not equipped with onboard programming capabilities. Smart key fobs for this model must be programmed using authorized diagnostic tools by a qualified technician. This guide outlines what to expect during the remote key programming process.
Programming Procedure (When No Recognized Remotes Are Present): If no valid remotes are currently programmed to the vehicle, follow this professionally assisted process:
- Step 1: Collect All Remote Fobs Bring all new and existing remote fobs with you. Any remotes not present during programming will be erased from the system.
- Step 2: Ensure the Vehicle Is Off Turn off the ignition and ensure all doors are closed. Confirm the vehicle’s battery is fully charged to prevent programming issues.
- Step 3: Transport the Vehicle to a Technician If the vehicle is still operable, driving it to a facility may reduce overall costs. If not operable, arrange for professional service at your location.
- Step 4: Connect Diagnostic Equipment The technician will plug a specialized diagnostic scan tool into the vehicle’s OBD-II port. This tool communicates with the vehicle's body and security control modules to access key programming mode.
- Step 5: Enter Remote Learning Mode The technician initiates a “Remote Key Learn” sequence using the scan tool. The vehicle’s system will enter a programming state, ready to register new remotes.
- Step 6: Insert the New Remote in the Programming Slot The remote must be placed in the designated learning location—typically the rear cupholder or center console pocket. The correct positioning is essential for the system to detect and learn the fob.
- Step 7: Confirm Remote Registration The system will provide visual or audible feedback once the remote has been successfully registered. The display may read “Ready for Remote #2” if more keys are to be programmed.
- Step 8: Program Additional Remotes To add more remotes (up to a total of eight), repeat Steps 6 and 7. Each remote must be programmed within the same session.
- Step 9: Exit Programming Mode Once all desired remotes are registered, the technician will exit learn mode using the scan tool. The vehicle system will confirm that programming is complete.
- Step 10: Verify Remote Functions Test each remote to ensure proper operation: Lock/Unlock Remote Start (if equipped) Panic Alarm Push-Button Start functionality
Additional Tips: Only use factory-compatible smart remotes. Immediately test all remotes after programming is complete. Keep spare remotes in a safe location to avoid needing reprogramming in the future.
