Programming Guide for 2025 Smart Keyless Entry Remote Fob
Important Notice: The 2025 model does not support onboard programming for smart key remote fobs. Programming requires specialized diagnostic equipment and must be performed by a professional with the necessary tools.
Smart Key Programming Instructions:
- Step 1: Ensure the vehicle is completely off and all doors are securely closed before starting the programming process.
- Step 2: Locate a professional service provider that can program the smart key remote fob for your vehicle. This typically involves visiting a service center or authorized provider with the necessary equipment.
- Step 3: If the vehicle is operational, consider driving it to the service provider instead of having them come to you. Driving to the service location may help reduce the cost of the service.
- Step 4: Contact the service provider to confirm they are equipped to program the smart key remote fob for your specific vehicle model.
- Step 5: Prepare the new remote fob and any existing fobs that need to be reprogrammed. The service provider may ask for all current keys to be present during the process.
- Step 6: When you arrive at the service provider, they will connect their diagnostic equipment to your vehicle. This equipment will communicate with the vehicle's onboard system to program the new smart key remote.
- Step 7: The professional technician will enter the vehicle's system through the diagnostic tool and initiate the programming process. The system will securely register the new remote fob and synchronize it with the vehicle’s electronic control unit (ECU).
- Step 8: After the new remote fob is programmed, the technician will verify its functionality. This includes testing the lock/unlock buttons, remote start functionality, and ensuring it operates as expected with the vehicle.
- Step 9: The technician will test any existing remotes that were present during the programming process. If needed, the remotes will also be reprogrammed to ensure they function properly with the vehicle.
- Step 10: Once the programming is complete and the remotes are verified, the technician will confirm that all remotes are correctly paired with the vehicle.
- Step 11: You will be asked to confirm that the new and any existing remote fobs work as intended. Test the Lock/Unlock and Engine Start/Stop functions to verify everything is working properly.
- Step 12: Once confirmed, the programming process is complete. The technician will disconnect the diagnostic equipment from the vehicle.
- Step 13: Make sure to collect all your remote fobs before leaving the service location. It’s a good idea to test all remotes once more before driving away to ensure proper operation.
Additional Considerations:
- Maximum Supported Remotes: This vehicle supports up to eight smart key remote fobs in total.
- Proof of Ownership: The service provider may request proof of ownership (e.g., vehicle title, registration) before proceeding with the programming.
- Cost Savings: If the vehicle is still drivable, driving to the service provider instead of requesting mobile service may reduce the programming cost.
- Functionality Check: Always perform a thorough check of the remote fob functions once programming is complete. Test both the Lock/Unlock and Engine Start/Stop buttons to ensure the fob is fully functional.
