Smart Key Remote Programming Guide – 2025 Genesis G90
Important Notice: The 2025 Genesis G90 does not support onboard programming for smart key remote fobs. Programming must be completed by a qualified technician using specialized diagnostic equipment.
Programming Instructions:
- Step 1: Reach out to a certified automotive technician or authorized service provider with experience in smart key systems and access to the proper diagnostic tools.
- Step 2: Ensure the technician uses vehicle-specific equipment capable of securely interfacing with your car’s electronic control unit to perform key registration.
- Step 3: If your vehicle is operational, driving it to the service location may help you reduce costs compared to scheduling mobile service.
- Step 4: Schedule an appointment in advance to confirm technician availability and tool readiness for your vehicle model.
- Step 5: Bring all existing smart keys to the appointment. Some systems require all remotes to be reprogrammed together for full compatibility.
- Step 6: Once on site, the technician will connect a diagnostic interface to the onboard diagnostic port, usually located beneath the dashboard.
- Step 7: The technician will initiate the programming procedure using specialized software to register the new smart key with your vehicle’s system.
- Step 8: After programming is complete, the technician will test all smart key functions—such as keyless entry, push-button start, and trunk access—to ensure proper operation.
- Step 9: Personally test each remote before concluding the visit to verify everything functions as expected.
- Step 10: Store spare remotes securely and consider programming an additional smart key as a backup in case of future loss or damage.
