Dodge Car Keys
The Dodge immobilizer system is a key security feature designed to prevent unauthorized starting of the vehicle. It works by using a transponder chip embedded in the key or key fob, which communicates with the vehicle's Electronic Control Unit (ECU). When you insert the key into the ignition or use the keyless entry system, the ECU checks the unique code transmitted by the chip. If the code matches the one stored in the system, the engine is allowed to start.
If an unauthorized key or cloned key is used, the system disables the engine, making it impossible to start the vehicle. This anti-theft feature significantly reduces the risk of vehicle theft through hot-wiring or unauthorized key duplication.
The Dodge immobilizer system provides an additional layer of security and is a standard feature on many modern Dodge vehicles, working in tandem with other keyless entry and security features to keep your car protected.
